His class is difficult,and he makes you uncomfortable about asking questions. He seems to be very friendly to white women only ever one else be ware. I cant really say if I like him or not neutral. Snappy at times. Glad I dont have to take him again!!! His new TA Pushkin sucks and unfriendly, and unapproachable. |

He is a great prof.. Calculus is not simple but he will definitely help you if you go to his office hours. Do the homework tests!!! and come to every class. |

prof. Butz is so far my most favorite prof. at Xavier. His class was the only one I looked forward to first semester, because he kept it fascinating by occasionally joking around, yet still sticking to the material. He is really great with helping you if you do not understand; just go to his office hours. Do the surprise homework tests. |

Terrible prof.. I was an A student in math through high school, and I ended up dropping this class. He isn't accommodating at all when you ask questions or go to his office hours. He pokes fun at you. In a class of only 20, it would seem that he would be more accommodating. |

Took accelerated Calculus class. Heavy use of calculator and homework gave you xtra points in class. I would advise not to miss any courses because he goes through a lot of material each class session. He is always available for xtra help though. So go to office if you every have trouble. Do the HW! |

Jack Butz is the man. He is very patient and makes math do-able. "Homework tests" exist only to add extra credit to your grade. Go to his office hours and he will help you out. I dislike math, failed Calculus but got an A with Jack. He really is the man. If you need a math course at X, take it with Jack. |
