Very enthusiastic. The courses overlap each other a lot, s attending every class feels like the progression is very slow, but she is a great prof..

She's very friendly and enthusiastic about her job. Her courses are pretty dull but she tries really difficult to make it fascinating. There are 2 papers and a final. However, she is a difficult grader i could never get over a B+ even with her help. She also does some group projects to help with participation. I wouldn't mind taking her again.

Just show up to class and participate. Everyday you will feel like you are having the same class over and over. She's very excited about the material but that's not enough to make most students care. There are few papers and the notes are online.

This class was fascinating but her grading is rough. I never went to her office hours. I didn't have time. She really makes herself available and explains the material clearly. I just feel like the prompts for the takehome papers (exams) weren't explained clearly. I wudn't take this class unless ur a phil major/minor & don't have many credit hours.

Prof. Tsalla taught the Arist. sem. and moral theory courses I took at St. Mary's. I'm now completing my MA in philosophy and continuing onto my doctorate. I found Tsalla's courses to be among the great I've encountered in Greek Philosophy. She possesses a writer's knack for tying together disparate themes. If you love phil., learn from Tsalla.

She wants people to succeed. Her issue is that she isn't great at explaining the material. She would repeat the same courses over and over and it seemed like we weren't getting anywhere. All you read is Plato's Republic the whole semester and it gets dull! I wouldn't recommend taking her class, especially if you want to do well in PHIL 205.

To do well in this class you must go to the courses though class is not mandatory. She is a great prof. in that she challenges the thinking of her students and strives to make them better people. Her papers are definitely challenging though and require a lot of thought. It is important to understand courses bc you will need it for papers.

What better prof. can you study Classical Greek philosophy from then a prof. who is a Greek student of philosophy? Her passion for the subject is contagious. She allows for class debate and discussion, which is rare. She uses the socratic method. I wish she taught the next level Phil; I would def take it w/her. She's the great !
