You will learn a lot from Getz. He's very knowledgable and a genuinely outstanding person. However, he is a very "difficult" grader. By that, I mean that he actually grades papers according to skill. This can be frustrating for those of us who are used to getting simple A's, but imagine how it feels to get an A that you actually earn! I love Getz. |

I had Getz for 205, and I currently have him for 371. Dr. Getz is a true English prof.. He's accommodating and will always look over papers and do what he can to help. BUT he won't just hand out A's. You have to earn them. He is a sweetheart and definitely my favorite in the department. |

An excellent prof., his knowledge about the material was deep and thorough. We used every book bought for class extensively and learned a lot from them. He is a difficult grader, but if you are willing to let him look over drafts beforehand he is very accommodating with improving them. |

As an English major, he made me feel like a terrible writer. A very difficult grader and most of the time class discussion has nothing to do with what will be on the paper. A very difficult class and a very difficult prof. but the guy is intelligent and class is fascinating if that's your thing. |
