Sabrina's Must See: XU games you just can't miss
Xavier vs. Dayton - men's basketball
TBA
If there's one tradition you need to make sure you
know regarding Xavier basketball, it's this: Dayton
doesn't win at Xavier, or at least they haven't since
1981. It's arguably been Xavier basketball's biggest
game of the season since Jimmy Carter was president
and, this year should prove to be the same.
Xavier vs. Cincinnati - men's soccer
2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2
Over the past two years, Xavier men's soccer has
created a tradition of winning, leading them to
two consecutive Atlantic 10 titles. This year, the
Musketeers will take on the Cincinnati Bearcats,
Xavier's crosstown rival, at home. It'll be a match
you won't want to miss.
Xavier vs. Dayton - volleyball
7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10
For the past few years, Dayton volleyball has been
the team to beat in the A-10, especially for its
rival, Xavier. This match, however, will be especially
important for the Musketeers as it's their last
home match of the season before they head to
Duquesne for the A-10 tournament.
Xavier vs. Duke - women's basketball
2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25
Each year, the Xavier women's basketball team
prides itself on playing an incredibly tough nonconference
schedule. This year, the Musketeers
will take on the Blue Devils of Duke University.
The Blue Devils lost last year to Stanford in the
Elite Eight and will be a tough team this coming
season.
Xavier vs. Butler - men's basketball
4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13
For the first time, the Musketeers will participate
in ESPN's Tip-Off Marathon. As if that's
not enough of an incentive, Xavier will take on
the Butler Bulldogs, a hated Xavier rival. Butler
has been one of Xavier's biggest rivals since a
questionable call involving a shot clock at Hinkle
Fieldhouse three years ago, an event that Xavier
Nation won't soon forget.
