PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIESThe HMDA/QC Clerk is responsible for analyzing HMDA data for accuracy and performing quality control reviews to ensure that Guardian Savings Bank is in compliance with banking laws and regulations related to consumer lending. The ideal candidate will be detailed-oriented, have a high degree of accuracy, and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSConduct monthly HMDA reviews of all loan file typesPerform quality controls reviews of originated files verifying accuracy of account setup and file documentationMaintain an excel spreadsheet to document errors found during reviews, and to aid in the development of future staff training.Ensure that errors identified are correctedConduct HMDA training for employees as neededPerform other duties and Compliance projects as required.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels). Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff. Must have vision with or without lenses adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling.POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time position: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm TRAVELNo travel is expected for this position.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEEntry Level PositionCollege degree a plus but not requiredTwo years of work experience in financial institutions or a lending environment SKILS/ABILITIESStrict attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential given the documentation requirements of the job and the need to interact with other employees and managementKnowledge of Lending compliance laws and regulations (ie, Truth In Lending Act, RESPA, HMDA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and Fair Lending, etc.) is also a plus.OTHER DUTIESPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
