College 2 Career Internship Program:

As a college intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a service mentor throughout the duration of your internship, as well as learn more about different departments and opportunities across AssuredPartners, with the potential of returning to AssuredPartners full-time, post-graduation.

Overview of Role

As a Government Contracting EB Strategy Intern, you will gain an understanding of the various processes, structures, initiatives, and strategy that occur at a corporate level. The program will provide you with a broad understanding of our national Government Contracting EB practice and the role each AssuredPartners department plays in the success of the whole organization, while also collaborating with key internal and external partners, including carriers, vendors, technology firms, among others. You will gain an overall understanding of the Government Contracting EB practice and its day-to-day operations while working with many other departments within AssuredPartners, including marketing, communications, sales, and human resources. You will build valuable skills while working with a fast-paced team and developing time management strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Send out weekly FedMine leads Updates to the list of Producers
  • New Prospect Vetting
    • Weed out unnecessary information on FedMine spreadsheet
    • Search MiEdge/FreeErisa for 5500 filings, broker identification, Schedule A information
    • Review company website for details
    • Search LinkedIn for contact info in addition to website/FedMine results
    • Search Dynamics for conflicts
    • Develop prospect profile
    • Create list for various targeted email campaigns upon which Producers can follow up with calls at appropriate time
  • Research websites/blogs/announcements to establish resource library for content for future information/breaking news to be shared with prospect universe
  • Research contacts for local SBA office/PTAC office in locations where we feel we will be referring companies with whom we talk
  • Start and manage drip marketing campaign for D.C metro area (1st) followed by other geographical areas
  • Build & manage lists of recently won contracts by targeted prospects
  • Build & manage producer activities list working with each producer to track overall level of activity, success/ failure by producer, agency, etc.
  • Track marketing effectiveness by region, office, producer for various marketing campaigns: dip, email, marketing material, etc.
  • Plan, attend & perform follow-up tasks for Government Contractor Solution educational presentations: producer, agency offices, prospects & clients
  • Other duties as assigned as the vertical evolves

Minimum Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be a self-starter, imaginative, and creative with good communication skills.
  • Must be competitive, persistent, and self-reliant, with high energy.
  • Must be excited and eager to learn our industry and niche space.
  • Must be proficient in excel and overall technologically savvy.
  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic about improving processes and sharing ideas in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Must be open and interested in sharing new perspectives with the team.
  • Working toward a degree with a business concentration preferred
