Supply Chain Internship The Bon Secours Mercy Health Internship Program is a paid 10-12-week immersive program that will expose students to the healthcare industry while also giving them the skills and experience needed to build a career. The program provides opportunities for mentorship, networking, career & professional development, community service, job shadowing, and exposure to senior and executive leaders. The intern will work under the direction of Bon Secours Mercy Health leadership by supporting the CarePath team on special projects. Supply Chain Supply Chain is a rapidly evolving field with high demand and limited qualified candidates with a blend of both education and experience. It is an historically labor-intensive field that has quickly shifted gears toward analytics-based work. Much of our SC efforts within the ministry are concentrated on high-velocity projects and initiatives in which additional competent hands are necessary. The age demographic of most interns boasts competencies such as collaboration, digital dexterity and diversity mindset to invoke creative thinking beyond status quo of day-to-day operations. The Supply Chain Intern will be accountable for helping drive initiative performance and improving process efficiencies, primarily in the form of project management. Location: Cincinnati, OH Dates: Monday, May 24th, 2021 - Friday, August 6th, 2021 Hours: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks Responsibilities: + Analyze various types of data and identify opportunities for cost savings around inventory and utilization process improvements+ Develop effective communications and positive working relationships with peer department heads, focused on improvement opportunities centered around customer service.+ Reconcile physical stock count against perpetual on-hands quantities+ Assist with creating process control and training documents around quality management+ Resolve incongruities of product receipts, invoicing and purchase orders+ Develop comprehensive logistics review of all region acute and non-acute entities for streamlining opportunities+ Assist with data collection and presentation development for key leadership members Qualifications: + Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Finance or Business Administration+ Preference for Juniors/Seniors+ Strong communication, verbal, written and listening skills+ Time management skills+ Basic Math skills+ Proficient in Microsoft Office suite - specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint+ Quick learner, ability to work independently and on a team+ Must be self-motivated, capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing priorities, and effectively manage deadlines Accountabilities: _Professionalism & Integrity_+ Displays positive attitude and work ethic+ Adheres to Mission and Mercy Health's Core Values+ Exhibits professional behavior, integrity and ethical behavior consistently+ Accepts personal responsibility_Communication_+ Delivers communications, both oral and written, that are timely, clear and concise+ Applies effective listening skills+ Demonstrates ability to adjust communication style of the audience_Technical Skills_+ Develops understanding of projects and how tasks relate to the "big picture"+ Demonstrates ability to research, analyze and conclude on issues+ Asks the right questions to garner an appropriate level of understanding_Teamwork_+ Demonstrates ability to work well with others and builds positive relationships with team members+ Represents own interests while working for the good of the team_Focus on Quality & Workload Management_+ Delivers a high-quality work product ensuring its completeness and organization is logical+ Uses effective time management skills to complete project work within specified deadlines+ Performs thorough self-reviews of work+ Meets assigned deadlines while performing assigned tasks+ Keeps supervisor informed on a routine basis as to the status of various projects, particularly when a delay or problem arises_Personal Effectiveness_+ Takes initiative and is willing to attempt new tasks/responsibilities.
