The Bon Secours Mercy Health Internship Program is a paid 10-12 week immersive program that will expose students to the healthcare industry while also giving them the skills and experience needed to build a career. The program provides opportunities for mentorship, networking, career & professional development, community service, job shadowing, and exposure to senior and executive leaders. The intern will work under the direction of Bon Secours Mercy Health leadership by supporting the Cybersecurity Security Operations Center team on special projects. The Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for the identification, containment, eradication, and recovery of all cybersecurity incidents. The team monitors for any cybersecurity threats or compromises, maintains monitoring tools, identifies attempts to compromise the enterprise and performs security incident response. The team focuses on detecting, responding to, and hunting for potential threats.

Location: Home Office in Cincinnati, OH (other locations may be available)

Dates: Monday, May 18th, 2020 - Friday, August 7th, 2020

Hours: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks

Responsibilities:

* Work with the Cybersecurity SOC (Security Operation Center) serving as a resource for the Security Analysts in daily threat hunting for indicators of compromise (IOC's) and Incident Response tasks for identified or reported security incidents
* Assist the SOC engineering staff with daily administrative duties for the Cybersecurity SOC security detection tools such as the McAfee SIEM (Security Incident and Event Management), CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker) and EDR solutions (End-point Detect and Respond Solution)
* Support active Cybersecurity project(s) as needed such as assisting with change control process tasks, attending project meetings to report on progress for project tasks and coordination/communication with supporting MHIT teams in support of the project(s)
* Assist with Incident Response tasks to include the following (Identification, Containment, Eradication, Restoration, Follow-up)
* Assist with daily administrative tasks of Cybersecurity SOC detective tools such as the McAfee Security Incident Event Monitoring platform (entails activities such as adds/removes data sources, report adds/removes/edits, troubleshooting tasks, Use Case adds/edits, etc.)
* Assist with Cybersecurity SOC proof-of-concepts for new tools as needed. This could entail coordination with other teams for support in deploying hardware/services as well as testing
* Participate in weekly Incident Response Tabletop Exercises
* Assist with writing Computer Security Incident Response Playbooks

Qualifications:

* Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology/Systems/Computer Science/Tech-related, Analytics/Statistics, Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics
* Junior/Senior preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite - specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Good communication (verbal, written, and listening)
* Strong interpersonal and presentations skills
* Self-motivated, capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing priorities, and effectively manage deadlines
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the leaders and colleagues
* Ability to work independently
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong time management and organization skills
