Join our 401(k) Administration Team as a Compliance Assistant Perfect Entry Level Position for:o Recent college graduate or successful college experience helpful.o Strong administrative work experience helpful, especially in financial industry. Gain knowledge and experience in Retirement Plan Administration:o On the job training provides the employee hands on experience.o Industry Education sponsored by PCA, through ASPPA (America Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries), provides the employee the Certification and Designation needed for career in Retirement Plan Administration. Education/Experience: o Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.o Desire and motivation to participate and pursue ASPPA certification.o Retirement planning industry or financial services industry experience valuable. General Function: Assist the 401(k) Compliance Team to ensure that the defined contribution plans administered by the company remain in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor. This Compliance Assistant position is a training position. Job functions initially geared towards training and exposure to basics of plan compliance. Employee is expected to learn duties as set forth below. General Responsibilities:o Understand and complete various non-discrimination and coverage testing.o Analyze data from multiple sources in order to complete top-heavy determinations and plan projections.o Prepare IRS Form 5500(-SF) and related schedules (notably Schedules C and H).o Coordinate with plan sponsors and plan auditors (if applicable) to ensure timely filings.o Research and respond to any IRS/DOL notifications and/or audit requests.o Prepare/file various other government forms, including Forms 1099-R, 945, and 5330.o Research and effectively communicate possible issues resulting from new compliance regulations.o Prepare client projections that consider both Non-Discrimination Testing results and IRC CODA limits.o Other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills:o Knowledge of non-discrimination testing rules and regulations.o Understanding of many different types of plan documentation.o Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.o Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.o Proven time-management skills. Ability to prioritize workflow and ensure duties are completed by Department of Labor deadlines (in addition to internal deadlines).o Good communication skills. Able to interact well with internal associates and outside clients and participants, always mindful of proper grammar and spelling usage.o Able to work well under stress created by time-sensitive deadlines, workflow volume fluctuations, and a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.o Commitment to teamwork and professional development/certification.o Ability to research correction issues and effectively communicate them to the PCA team. Software Programs:o Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications ( Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word).o Prior knowledge of the Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) recordkeeping system.o Familiarity with ASC recordkeeping software is a plus.o Experience working with windows-based ftwilliams.com software is helpful.o EFTPS Batch Provider software will be used often (daily/weekly).
