Part Time Registered Medical Assistant
DescriptionWe are currently looking for Part Time Medical Assistants who are interested in excelling in an exciting position with a new chemical dependency treatment center. We are looking to fill multiple positions, and are looking for medical assistants with general medical office, emergency, behavioral health, or substance abuse treatment experience. We are concentrating on finding open-minded employees who are compassionate and hard working. This is a new center located in central Cincinnati with the latest technology and a very welcoming work environment where we focus on BOTH patient and employee satisfaction. Schedule flexibility, hours would be Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm-9:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am-4:00pm. Position: Medical Assistant - Level 1 Reports To: Chief Medical Officer
FLSA:Non-Exempt (This position is paid overtime) Position Summary: The Medical Assistant follows established treatment program policies and procedures to provide continuity of care and adheres to current medical procedures, standards, and practices. These responsibilities include utilizing medical skills for planning, assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patient needs. The Medical Assistant also must be able to perform laboratory procedures in accordance with current best practices. The Medical Assistant will perform duties within the scope of their licensure or certification, under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. Essential Job Duties: Ensure the timely collection of patient laboratory specimens consistent with federal and state regulationsManage monthly patient lists for medical testing, including follow-up testing as required by state guidelinesTimely review, posting, and dissemination of all laboratory resultsTrack all documents from laboratory for accuracy and compliancePrepare specimens for shippingAssist Medical Professionals in scheduling exams and annual physicalsComplete patient vital signs and health assessmentsComplete patient TB testing and blood draws (as applicable)Complete TB testing for team members and applicants & ensure annual team member re-testing is compliant (as applicable)Maintain appropriate inventory of all laboratory suppliesMaintain an organized and sanitary work environmentProvide input into overall treatment program philosophy, treatment services, and patient carePrepare reports for participation in treatment team meetingsProvide consultation to team members regarding lab testing, results, and other relevant patient issuesEnsure the maintenance of quality patient careMaintain the highest level of confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with patientsMeet Company attendance standards and be present and ready for work at the beginning of their established workdayReport any work-related injury or illness, or workplace hazards or security issues immediately to supervisorResponsible for complying with all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirementsResponsible for complying with all accrediting agenciesResponsible for ensuring CLIA Waiver requirements are maintained and communicated to team member responsible for maintaining treatment center licensureOther duties as assigned by the supervisor Compensation & Benefits:Compensation well above market rates Required Education/Degree: Associate Degree Required Certification/License: The Medical Assistant must hold a valid certification in the State of Ohio or meet qualifications through a documented training program from on-the-job experience. The Medical Assistant should have appropriate work experience in the behavioral health field and/or a family practice setting. Preferred Work Experience: 2 Years
