  • Favorite places of England’s most famous

LONDON — Although I’ve spent plenty of time in London

and a few weekends traveling to different countries, I hadn’t really taken the opportunity to see many areas just outside of London. There are plenty of places in England that are only a short train or bus ride away from London. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve done some exploring in these outside areas, particularly in Windsor and Oxford.

  • The Last Video Store

October 7 was my very first shift at FLiX.

  • Titanic: A re-release of a timeless classic

Where were you Dec. 19, 1997? Probably not in the movie

theaters, given we were only about eight or nine years old and weren’t even allowed (or supposed) to see PG-13 movies.

  • Almost, Maine Almost, Maine a success with audiences

“Almost, Maine, a small town in northern Maine that doesn’t

quite exist….” Is the setting for this past weekend’s Xavier Players’ show Almost, Maine. This show, written by John Cariani, consists of eight 15-minute segments interconnected

by the location of this unincorporated Maine village. As noted in the playbill, each story “takes place at nine o’clock on a cold, clear, moonless, slightly surreal Friday night in the middle

of the deepest part of a northern Maine winter.”

Each spring, DanceCincinnati, Cincinnati’s professional dance organization, holds it’s annual ball. This year it was held on St. Patrick’s Day evening and was therefore themed as such.

  • Taking a Break in Santiago, Spain

LONDON — I was excited about my spring break trip this week not only because I would get to go to Spain (number two in my goal to reach five European countries),
but also because I was going to get to hang out with someone from home. One of my friends from elementary school is spending
the semester in Spain, and although
we aren’t really close, any connection to home is appreciated after two months. She is studying in my first destination, Santiago de Compostela.

  • 21 Jump Street The reel review with john:

Come over to 21 Jump Street

21 Jump Street is the latest TV series from the 1980s to be adapted for the big screen. The original 21 Jump Street, a gritty crime drama in which baby-faced cops go undercover
in high school, helped launch the career of Johnny Depp.

  • London: A city of street fairs and fun markets

LONDON — Like the museums, palaces and gardens,
London’s markets are definitely something worth seeing. Each one has its own history and personality. The three I visited alone were very different from each other, and London has many more markets that I haven’t seen yet.

  • Davy Jones: A believer

Davy Jones was the quintessential pop star.

  • Scotland: The home of Edinburgh Castle

LONDON — I can now officially say that I have been to three of the four parts of the United Kingdom. This past weekend, I went to Edinburgh, Scotland with a group of people from my University. When I told people from home that I was going

to Edinburgh, they all asked why. To be honest, I wasn't entirely

sure what there was to see in Edinburgh either, but I wanted to go to Scotland, so Edinburgh it was.
