On Thursday, Xavier held its annual Founder’s
Day celebration, a tradition that honors the
“spirit of service” upon which the University
was built, according to the University’s website.
New to this year’s ceremony, the students
of Xavier participated in a campaign to name
the new residential complex, greenspace and
mezzanine.
Organized by Executive Director of the
Center for Faith and Justice Dave Johnson and
student body president Ryan Alleman, the process
gathered nominations for names
from students and opened them to student
voting.
Executive decision came from
President, Fr. Michael graham, S.J.,
who released the selected names at the
Founder’s Day ceremony. The new residential
complex was renamed Bishop
Edward Fenwick Place and the new
greenspace will be called Muskateer
Mezzanine.
