Men’s soccer kicked off their season with a victory of the Marshall Thundering Herd at the Xavier Soccer Complex. Xavier had six saves thanks to goalkeeper Justin Marshall. Xavier advances to 1-0 to start their season.
“I’m certainly happy with our result, but I think the path could have been better,” head coach Andy Fleming said via goxavier.com. “Marshall made it a little hectic and presented us with a different look than what we had seen in our three preseason games. We knew that coming in, but sometimes that doesn’t matter.”
The Xavier men will next take the field on Sunday in Nashville against Lipscomb at 3:00 p. m. The Xavier women’s soccer team will also be in action on Sunday, a home game against Ball State at 1:00.
